Drinking outcomes and acculturation orientations among Asian Americans

Read our latest work fresh off the press online in Psychology of Addictive Behaviors. The study, “Acculturation and alcohol use among Asian Americans: A meta-analytic review,” is the first comprehensive quantitative review of this research area. Despite that psychological literatures have highlighted the importance of considering acculturation as a determinant of health outcomes, our meta-analyses show that how much Asian Americans adhere to the mainstream U.S. or Asian cultures is minimally linked to their alcohol use behaviors and drinking-related problems.
