Fall Semester 2015 Comes to a Close

The semester is over and it has been a very busy one – just posted my last grades. I taught Jazz I, Jazz III and the final unit of Comp I with The Elements Project – that’s three courses. I was Artistic Director of the student Brown Bag performance series and set my signature work, Swing Concerto on students in the Division for the fall main stage concert. Below is a photo of the soloist, Reid Conlon. He was excellent. Watching him grow in the role was so gratifying. The other photo is of the “Mexican Jumping Bean” step near the end of the work set to Sing, Sing, Sing.  Some shoulders are up but that is what makes it jazz! One of the original cast members had to drop out near the end of the rehearsal process and a First Year guy stepped in, learned the dance in a few days and did a phenomenal job. I had a great cast. They were all wonderful.
