Going to this grocery store interested me. I am a lover of Indian food and thought of this as a perfect opportunity to further expand my horizons and get some delicious dosa. Arriving at the grocery store I was greeted with a strong smell of spice that permeated the entire area. Despite initially being overwhelming the scent mellowed the further I walked into the mart until it was a pleasant reminder of the food I was about to eat. As soon as I walked into the Chaat house though, I got an extremely different vibe than what I usually expect from Indian restaurants or food. Though I have had many dinners at Indian restaurants, I was not prepared for what I had walked into because I have never had any kind of Chaat. Despite this I was excited to learn and taste just what this kind of food was about. I had no idea what to order when presented with an extensive menu, however I finally settled on the masala dosa and let me tell you it was the best decision I have ever made. As I awaited my dosa, I got to watch the chefs actually make all the dishes that they were serving. The way the dosas were made fascinated me as the center was made and then the wrapping was put on and it was served and then I was confronted with a very difficult decision; which chutney I wanted to eat my dosa with. Each one looked better than the last, and I wanted to try all of them, but finally after a long thoughtful period I chose the coconut chutney and was not disappointed. As I tried to use a fork and knife to eat the dosa and failed quite miserably an idea popped into my mind; and although I’m sure I looked quite uncultured and hilarious as I began to fold and eat my dosa like a burrito.  Although it looked quite silly it was well worth it as I enjoyed the rest of my meal. Afterwards I walked around the aisles and examined all the products this unique grocery store had to offer. And I was surprised at how many spices were on display. This spice aisle was wonderful to walk down and experience all of the colorful sights and permeating smells. Looking back I wish I had gotten more food so that I could experience more of the excellent food served in that Chaat house.  Needless to say I would highly recommend trying this wonderful food and I most certainly will be returning to eat more of that delicious food.
