The pilot program “Estancias de Investigación de Verano en Southern Methodist University” is directed to Mexican master students who wish to have a unique research experience for 6 weeks during the summer in the United States (from June 11 to July 23, 2018). We encourage students from the following research fields to apply: Electrical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Robotics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Public policies, International trade, Political sciences, and Renewable energies. Students will have until February 11 to complete their application. The program will cover: airplane fee (roundtrip), lodging in SMU, two meals a day, and all the necessary documents for them to apply for a short stay visa in the United States. More details can be found here.
Here are some projects from my lab you could be involved with:
- Development of a theoretical hybrid control system framework for bionic legs (robotic prosthetic legs and exoskeletons) based on equations of motion and human physiology.
- Development of a predictive and adaptive bioinspired control for bionic legs and a haptic interface.
- Design of sensor and actuation technologies embedded in textile technology for rehabilitation robotics.
In general, I encourage you to apply if there is a particular research topic you want to explore that is within my research interests.
