Southeast Ceramic Reference Collection

Collection Description

This type collection was a gift from the Williams Museum at Northwestern State University of Louisiana and is recorded as accession no. SMU 1970-1.  The collection comprises 23 lots of varying ceramic types, some duplicated across lots.  Some of the sherds have whole or partial Smithsonian trinomials on them.  Some of the Lots comprise multiple sherds, other lots consist of a single sherd.  All sherds are labeled with their SMU catalog numbers according to Lot.  NOTE: Some type names used in the original documentation have since been revised, and may not be current.
