Research Group
We have a small research group with emphasis on numerical p.d.e. and finite element analysis.
US-Africa Advanced Study Institute and Workshop Series in Mathematical Sciences
The main goal of the Masamu Program is cultivating sustained cooperation between and among US and Southern African Mathematical Sciences Departments.
During Fall 2011, with several Auburn University colleagues we organized The first annual Masamu Advanced Study Institute and Workshops which was held December 1 – 14, 2011 in Livingstone, Zambia. The 2011 Inaugural US-Africa Advanced Study Institute focused on Analysis, Dynamical Systems, and Mathematical Biology, and the Workshop subject was Mathematical Modeling of Biological Systems. Target audience of the Advanced Study Institute is graduate students and early career faculty; 13 US and 13 African advanced graduate students and early career faculty underwent rigorous training and will work collaboratively on research under the supervision and guidance of 9 US, African, and European research mathematicians.
During Fall 2012 (November 30th – December 2, 2012) in Lilongwe, Malawi, we will conduct the US-Africa Research Workshop on Mathematical Modeling of Biological Systems and Biodiversity.
