MEMBERS
Any student of Southern Methodist University may be an official member of Spectrum. You do not have to be gay/lesbian/bi/trans, in fact our straight allies make up a significant percentage of our regular membership every year. We could not exist without your support! (Please consider becoming part of our official ALLIES organization.) Nor do you have to be undergrad, or from any particular school within the University - although the law school and seminary do have their own support networks (Affirming Religious Community andOutlaw).

You do not have to be a member to come to meetings or participate in events. However, you must be signed up on ACCESS and have a signed waiver on file in order to travel with Spectrum to any off-campus events. Official member count also helps keep our organization active according the SAMSA standards. For help using Access to sign up please Contact Us.

TSHIRTS
Coming Soon: A link to Spectrum's CAFE PRESS, where you will be able to buy tshirts and other Spectrum-supporting merchandise.

We are currently accepting ideas for tshirt designs, logos and slogans. Please submit them at any Spectrum meeting. Thank you!

OFFICERS

Congratulations to new Officers and Chairs of 2009-2010!

Our exective staff beautifully illustrates the diversity of our group. We not only have members from all parts of the alphabet soup pot, but our leadership draws from all schools and departments at SMU!

Support staff or "Chairs" are not official officers, but they are vital to the maintenance and effectiveness of the group. Each officer advises a chair when needed.

Co-President Betsy Lewis Social Chair Alex Parrish
Betsy graduated in May 2009 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and Math, and returns to us here to pursue a Master's degree. "I enjoy long moonlit walks and Irish beer."

The Social Chair answers to one of the Co-Presidents and is in charge of organizing "icebreaker" activities to promote social interaction at meetings, organizing social events, and keeping abreast of activities in the "Gayborhood". Alex is a second year Computer Science major.

I got involved in Spectrum this past year and really enjoyed becoming involved in GLBT issues.  My ultimate goal is to bring the importance of GLBT issues into the academic field of study.
