Spring 2001 News
Our season is officially over and we are looking forward to next season. Starbuck Laney and Mike Duffy will be graduating and therefore no longer in charge of the team. We had fun while we were in charge of it. Eric Palmer and Will Burer will take over the responsibilities.

Tryout/Practice News

• Tryouts for Fall 2001 season are tentative, depending on the need for new players. Definitely look for tryouts in the Spring 2002 season, but check back to see if there will be any for this Fall.
  
• Practices will be tentatively held on Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm on the Intramural Field. Anyone is invited to come play with us, we'd like to get bigger practices/scrimmages going.

Approximately $20 for buying team shorts.

Who Should Join/More About the Team
The club is open to all men attending SMU. The skill level is very competitive, but we may begin teams in lower divisions if enough people speak up or come to tryouts. We are looking for good players who played in high school and have the skills to be competitive in top division men's league play. We play in the North Texas Premier Soccer Association's(NTPSA) Men's League. After our first couple seasons, we realized the time committment involved and want people that are very willing to play on the weekends and come to practices.

Practice and Game Times
These times may vary, but we expect you to be there, especially for the games. Game times are on Sundays between 11am-7pm normally, and occasionally we will have night games during the week, in cases of make-up games. We are also trying to get a game or two together against other schools in Texas. We would join the collegiate league, but our division does not allow us to play the top teams, and the tradeoff of travelling does not make it viable at this point.

Club History
In the Spring of 1999, Starbuck Laney and Mike Duffy decided that they wanted to play soccer again. They started out by trying to get in the Men's League - Division 1 of the North Texas Premier Soccer Association (NTPSA). Then, they figured that they might as well form a team with SMU guys and this led them to contacting the Recreational Sports office for some help. It moved forward slowly and after a whole lot of work they pulled together a team and eventually got money from Student Senate. It now enters the sixth season in the Fall of 2001.
