Welcoming Note

Dearest Friends,

Welcome to the Omega of Texas Alumni Association website at Southern Methodist University. On behalf of our executive board and officers, chapter alumni members, and the SMU transfer admissions staff, I would like to give you a warm SMU and Phi Theta Kappa welcome.

We are enthusiastic and excited about contributing to the reputation of academic excellence that is evident at SMU and within the Phi Theta Kappa society. Our goals include providing encouragement and assistance to transfer students who decide or are in the process of deciding in transferring to SMU. We also intend to help transfer students reach their academic goals and ensure their success as leaders on SMU campus and within the Dallas community.

Today, we are continuing our pilot programs.  This year, we recognized two of our top transfer students who met the high standards of Phi Theta Kappa and Southern Methodist University's academic curriculum.  Additionally, we look forward in continuing our recently launched another pilot program called SUCCESS @ SMU, which is a peer-to-peer mentoring program for dedicated to transfer students and Phi Theta Kappa members.

We know that your experiences here with Phi Theta Kappa and SMU will be a memorable one and we wish for your every success.

For fellowship and service,

Ben Koh
Executive Vice-President, Omega of Texas

The TOP transfer award is given to the best transfer students at SMU. Transfer students are being recognized as significant contributors and participants at SMU and we add to the prestige culture that is SMU.

The award is handed to up to five transfer students each Spring and its selection process is strict and follows high standards that exist in any honor society.

Congratulations to our Top Transfer Award winners for 2004/05.
