Joining a fraternity is one of the most rewarding experiences a collegian can
undertake during his time at school. The friends you make are life long, the connections
you establish are priceless, and the experiences you have will be some of the
greatest in your life. Joining a fraternity can be an easy decision for some,
however which fraternity to join can be a very difficult choice. Pikes at SMU
are by far the most diverse fraternity on campus with over 120+ members making
us the largest house on campus. But don't get me wrong here... size does not dictate
quality... fortunately though our fraternity both has the size and quality of men
that makes us the house we are. A fraternity is an experience, make sure you join
the one that you know you'll get the best out of your four years (maybe five) at.
Rush is the lifeblood of the fraternity and without rush the fraternity would not exist.
Rush is a very active part of our chapter, and in many ways competition between our
house and others on campus. Not only are we getting to know a lot of people a whole lot better,
but we're building the future foundation of our fraternity. We don't just recruit members, we recruit PIKES.
Our members are Scholars, Leaders, Athletes, and Gentlemen. All
these things make them well rounded men. If you've taken the time to look
around our website, or if you've been over to the house you probably already
know this.
If you're currently a freshmen, and your only experience with a fraternity
is having seen Animal House, please come by. You're always welcome to come
and take a look and find out what this whole "frat" thing is all about.

a call if you have any questions about rush or our house. In our fraternity rush is a 24 hour, 365 day a year job, and we're always looking for new members.
Just a few pointers for all you guys out there planning to rush a house... join the house
that you have the most in common with, look at the developing pledge classes (since SMU has
spring rush for freshmen, you'll start to notice that certain groups of freshmen already
have their minds made up about which house they want to go), get to know the guys
in the house (they'll be your brothers once you join), and most of all... have fun
the semester you're rushing.
Remember to sign up for rush too. You can do this at the Student Center at Hughes
Trigg. Also the SMU IFC (Interfraternity Council) homepage should answer any
questions you may have about rush eligibility, information, etc.
The dates are January 8th-January 11th Spring Rush.
