Providing Advanced Assistance with Statistical and Research Software and Projects
Statistical consulting is provided to SMU faculty, staff and graduate students. Advising on modeling directions, analyzing data, creating presentation quality graphical displays and assistance in documenting the results. Statistics areas include, but are not limited to: survey sampling, statistical sampling plans and extrapolation of results, data analysis and interpretation of the results, multiple regression analysis, non-parametric statistics, time series analysis, hypothesis testing, probability modeling, experimental design, model fitting and data management.
About Statistical Software
Services also include conducting workshops throughout the year to introduce those interested to various statistical software packages. Arrangements for group or individual assistance on using packages may be requested by faculty or staff. SMU licenses many research software applications for use by portions of the SMU Community. These applications include: SAS, SPSS, SPLUS, R, Stata, HLM,Eviews, Mathematica, MatLab, Maple, GAMS, NAG, ArcView, Xwin-32, and Putty.
