Pursuers of All Things Holy and Sacred (PATHS)
Article I. Membership
Active ("voting") membership shall be afforded SMU students, alumni, faculty or staff who attend at least three out of four consecutive meetings of PATHS in any given semester. Active members additionally must participate in group activities to a reasonable extent, uphold the mission statement of PATHS, and communicate with the group (both in person and/or through the e-mail listserve).
Article II. Officers' Duties
The duties of PATHS officers shall be as follows:
ALL OFFICERS
PRESIDENT
- Ensure that the group stays to true to its mission statement
- Uphold this constitution
- Uphold University rules and regulations
- Serve as a check-and-balance system.
The President shall execute the following duties:
SECRETARY
- Attend and preside over all PATHS meetings
- Act as a spokesperson for PATHS
- Act as a representative to the University administration, the press, Student Senate, and other relevant entities
- Keep the membership apprised of relevant information from the above named entities.
The Secretary shall execute the following duties:
TREASURER
- Attend all PATHS meetings
- Preside over meetings if the President is unable to do so.
- Keep minutes of PATHS meetings
- Report those minutes in email format to the group
- Maintain a current list of members, both voting and nonvoting
- Take attendance at all PATHS meetings
- Handle official documents such as the calendar
- Preside over voting
- Manage the group's email listserve.
The Treasurer shall execute the following duties:
CHAIN OF COMMAND
- Attend all meetings
- Create and maintain a working budget
- Delegate and use funds as approved by members
- Coordinate fundraising.
If any officer is unable to execute his or her duties at a meeting, the chain of command shall be as follows:
President
Secretary
Treasurer
Should only one officer be present at a given meeting, he or she shall assume all the relevant duties for that meeting.
Officers may delegate part of their duties to a member, with the understanding that the officer will still be accountable for the execution of those duties.
Any officer may be censured or removed for gross negligence or moral turpitude (as defined in Article IV of the PATHS Constitution). Such motions will require a ¾ majority to carry.
Article III. Worship Services
Worship services (also known as "rituals" or "circles") may be held at the will of the membership, and will be conducted by the membership, and shall be formatted as to comply with all University rules and regulations.
