Review of Controversial Pictures
This is a picture of the World Trade Center as it was being attacked on September 11, 2001. This shot depicts an airplane as it is about to hit the building, while the first tower is seen in the background, already hit and smoking as fire consumes the upper portion of the building.
This image could be considered as offensive. This shows a terrible and tragic attack against the United States of America and could be considered bad on a couple of different levels. First off, this shot depicts tragic deaths in a horrible way. It could offend the families who lost their loved ones that day and make them very saddened. It could also depict America as showing weakness and allowing this to happen to the country. This could make a lot of Americans very angry, as they do not want to be viewed as weak.
This image does present a redeeming quality. It is a remembrance of a time that was extremely painful and hard on all of us, and could be considered a memorial to those that we lost.
I believe that this picture is newsworthy and there shouldn't be any problems showing this picture. It may hurt people in a specific way but to most of us, we all endured pain as a nation, for suffering this great loss
This is a picture of a guy falling to his death out of the World Trade Center. This man was most likely forced out by the explosion that occurred within the building as the airplane hit.
This picture is definitely controversial and is probably extremely disturbing to moth people. I consider this an image that is hurtful and is unnecessary for the public to see. A man who is falling to his death is not a nice image for people to see when they wake up in the morning to read their paper. It depicts terrible violence and is wrong to show to the masses.
There are no redeeming qualities about this picture. This man was innocent and pictures should not be released regarding how someone actually died.
I believe that this picture is not worthy of release and should not be seen.
This is again a picture of someone falling out of the World Trade Center to his death.
Many people would also probably find this image very controversial as it is a scene of actual death and is not a pretty site, especially on a day that was so tragic.
This image also has no redeeming qualities and is not essential to prove any points.
I believe that this picture also is not newsworthy and would probably hurt the family and friends of the people that knew this person. This is not how this person should be remembered.
This is an image of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. It shows a woman on a bridge with a weakened dog, and a person lying dead in the mass of water below her.
This is also a very offensive image. It was an extremely hard time, and it hurts to remember all the death that happened during this natural disaster.
Their are obviously no redeeming qualities regarding death, but it is also a memorial to those who died. and those who struggled while they are still alive during this hard time.
This picture is newsorthy even though death is depicted in it.
This is a picture of a crucifix sitting in a jar of urine.
Obviously those who are devoutly Christian will be offended by this picture. It is their great savior sitting in a jar of piss. To those who take Christ to be very serious, this is extremely controversial and puts their religion to shame.
This image could have been taken in protest to something. This image could have redeeming qualities if it had meaning behind it, instead of just being a practical joke.
This image is newsworthy as long as their is a reason to support why this picture was taken.

These pictures show a city square with a plan for a statue in it, and a shot of the square after the statue was built.
These images should not be controversial in any way as their is nothing offensive being alluded to here.
These images do have redeeming qualities as they are nice looking pictures of a town square that has a strange piece of art in it.
