STAR
I'm currently working in the STAR (Student Technology in Residence) program on the SMU campus. It's a great program that helps faculty around campus finish and do media projects that they need help with.
Some of the projects I've done over the course of the year:
Website for Professor Gunter, Class Piano Program: Class Piano
Converted Video Segments and Pictures into a DVD for Professor DeOlivares
Converted many WebCT courses over to the Blackboard system for multiple professors. SMU had two course management systems, WebCT and Blackboard, and recently made the change to exclusively Blackboard. The STARS helped all the faculty change their courses over to the Blackboard system.
Slide Scanning and File organization
Powerpoint graphs, charts, and image changes.
Powerpoint animations and transitions.
I have many peers and friends in the STAR program, and we all get along and enjoy working together when we happen to be in the STAR room together.
Our boss, Ian Aberle, is a really good coordinator, and puts together the projects and coordinates us so we are all doing something and doing it timely. He also gives us resources and materials to further our education to be able to stay on top of current media forms and software we can use to help professors with.
