On October 6, 2001 we held the 1st Annual Kappa Klassic Golf Tournament and Lunch. We incorporated this philanthropy into Kappa Family and Friends weekend. The tournament was a huge success and a lot of fun! Our chapter worked together to raise over $6,400 for Special Camps for Special Kids - Camp John Marc. is a summer camp fro chronically ill and disabled children. We are very proud and look forward to raising even more money next year. |

| Each year during Recruitment Rounds we have a Philanthropy Day in which potential members paint baby outfits to donate to Parkland Hospital. Parkland Hospital has the reputation of "putting patient care first" and, as Dallas' only public hospital, provides exceptional medical services to the community regardless of the patient's ability to pay. Each year thousands of new mothers leave Parkland with nothing for their newborn babies to wear home. Thanks to the girls going through Recruitment last year, the babies will have something to wear home. In 2001 we donated 259 baby t-shirts and this year we donated about 275 baby t-shirts. The new member pledge class takes the t-shirts to the Parkland Hospital so that they can see who they are helping. |

This talented group of Kappas have entertained at nursing homes, philanthropic events, scholarship banquets, Founder's Day and special children's events. Their Texas twang and boot stompin' rhythm are an uplifting and enthusiastic sight to hear and see. |
