I trained at the Tolbert Yilmaz School of Dance from 1999-2014 in classical ballet, contemporary ballet, and modern. I worked with Kassandra Taylor and performed her pieces at the South East Regional Ballet Association Festival from 2009-2014. In 2014, I performed at the International Ballet Competition. Each summer beginning in 2006, I participated in a ballet summer intensive including the intensive’s of Washington Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Governor’s Honors Program, National Choreography Intensive, Ballet Austin, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Atlanta Ballet, and Burklyn Ballet. I have performed in the Nutcracker for 10 years and have had lead roles such as Sugar Plum, Dew Drop, Merliton, and Candy Cane. I also have been Swanilda in Coppelia, Finger Fairy in Sleeping Beauty, and Spring Fairy in Cinderella. In my high school’s production of Cats, I had the opportunity to perform as the White Cat. I have also had choreographic experience. I have choreographed pieces in the annual HUGS Charity Concert for four years. While most of my training has been in ballet, I am a versatile dancer with experience in contemporary, Horton, Graham, jazz, tap, musical theater, and hip hop. I am majoring in dance at Southern Methodist University, and it is my aspiration to become a professional contemporary ballet dancer. In addition to my passion for dance, I have a passion for political science. I will also be majoring in political science with an emphasis in international politics at SMU, and I hope to have a career in the realm of international affairs after my dance career.
