PONI (SMU catalog) (Public catalog.): The Underwood Law Library is included in the public online catalog for SMU libraries, known as PONI.
OCLC's FirstSearch .: National bibliographic database. Access to books and to periodical indexes. Requires law school ID and password.
Libdex: Access to a substantial number of OPACs at American, Canadian, and U.K. libraries, including law libraries.

AcqWeb -- Acquisition's Homepage: AcqWeb site for access to publisher catalogs and other resources on acquisitions and technical services matters. (Not currently being maintained.)
Publisher Catalogs on the Web: A worldwide listing and links to publishers who have catalogs on the web. Listed by country; keyword search, more. An option to check after the Acqweb list.

Alibris: Search engine for finding sources of used and rare books.

BookFinder.com site.: Great search engine for used, remaindered, out-of-print, rare books, and new publications. Searches wide variety of sources.

LC Authorities Records: Searchable by subject, name, title, and name/title. Offered initially for free.
Understanding MARC Bibliographic Machine-Readable Cataloging: Library of Congress, Cataloging Distribution Service publication. Provides basic overview of what is MARC, what are MARC fields, tags, indicators, and subfield codes. Provides definitions and explains the use of many of the most heavily used MARC tags.
