QTVR QuickTime VR | An Introduction

QuickTime VR or QTVR is an incredible medium to work in. If you are not familiar with it, here is a basic description.

QuickTime VR is a way of assembling a group of images to create a navigable immersive image. Panoramic, Object and Cubic are the main types of QuickTime VR.

Most of the QTVRs I do are Panoramics. For most of the stuff I do now, I use a Canon EOS with a 19mm Sigma Lens, but in the past I have used Canon's 35mm lens for doing VRs. The wider the lens, the fewer the shots. With the 19mm, about 12 images are taken for one Pano, but with the 35, about 18 images are used. I do shoot some digital images for VR, but I like the archival nature of film. This being said, I love the instant results with digital.
