Third Pair of Blog Comments – Blondheim and Campbell Articles
This assignment consists of two parts:
First, read the other assignments on the Student Pages and find one that analyzed the same journal article that you read, and that you think provided a complete and correct response to the questions posed in the original assignment. Why? How does their assignment clarify the article’s argument, sources, or conclusions? Select a specific example from the assignment that in your opinion does a particularly good job of interpreting and analyzing the article’s main points, arguments, or evidence. How and why does this assignment help you understand an aspect of the article that you had not previously considered? If you quote the assignment directly, make sure you use quotation marks. Your answer should be thoughtful and consist of a substantial paragraph of at least 200 words (a little less than a standard double-spaced typewritten page of text).
As discussed in class, you will paste your answer into the “Comment” box at the bottom of each student page. Because each of you will be doing two of these, type “Comment 5” on the first line and then enter your text below, along with your FIRST name. When you are finished, scroll down to the “Submit” button, click on it, and your comment will appear.
Second, find an assignment that analyzed the other journal article, the one you did not read. That is, if you read Blondheim, look for Campbell, and vice versa. You do not need to read this article yourself. The idea here is to look for an assignment that you think explained the article so well you can understand its basic arguments and points based on his or her responses to the questions. Why? Select a specific example from the assignment that in your opinion does a particularly good job of interpreting and analyzing the article’s main points, arguments, or evidence. If you quote the assignment directly, make sure you use quotation marks. Your answer should be thoughtful and consist of a substantial paragraph of about 200 words (a little less than a standard double-spaced typewritten page of text).
Type “Comment 6” on the first line and then enter your text below, along with your FIRST name. When you are finished, scroll down to the “Submit” button, click on it, and your comment will appear.
You should write your answers in Word or another text editing program before you copy and paste to the Comment box. BE SURE TO SAVE A COPY OF YOUR COMMENTS TO A SEPARATE FILE ON YOUR HARD DRIVE SO THAT YOU WILL HAVE A BACKUP RECORD OF YOUR WORK.
