IFC Recruitment Registration Instructions

  • Print these instructions for use during registration.
  • You will need access to a check book or credit card, and your resume.
  • The online registration link is located at the bottom of this page - DO NOT CONTINUE UNTIL YOU HAVE READ ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
  • Once you have submitted your application, you will not be able to edit it.
  • A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address that you provide.
  • Applications submitted without payment in one week will be terminated and need to be resubmitted.

Step 1 – Recruit Information

  • Your preferred name is the name that you would like to be called.  It will be the dominant name on your nametag.
  • Please enter your student ID with no dashes: 12345678.
  • Please provide your SMU e-mail address to ensure proper communication.
  • DO NOT enter a P.O. Box # for college address, a physical address is required.
  • Include city and state in your hometown field.

Step 2 – High School Information

  • This information is helpful to chapters.
  • For any category that you do not have information for (rank, SAT, ACT, etc.), please list a zero (0) in that field.

Step 3 – Contact Information

  • This should be the address you will reside during winter break.
  • Please include the name of your parent or guardian.

Step 4 – Current College Information

  • Make sure to indicate your year in school.

Step 5 – College History

  • This section is ONLY for college or university information OTHER than SMU
  • Click “Add” after entering information.
  • Repeat as necessary.

Step 6 – Legacy Information

Each chapter has its own legacy policies and qualifications.  Being a legacy does not guarantee a bid from that chapter.

  • If a member of your family has a fraternity affiliation, please indicate it in this section
  • Use the drop down menu to select the relationship to you
  • Indicate the name (optional)
  • Use the drop down menu to select the sorority
  • Indicate the school (optional)
  • Click “Add”
  • If you make a mistake, you may delete the entry
  • Repeat the process for as many members of your family needed

Step 7 – Recruitment History

  • Please indicate whether you have participated in an IFC recruitment process before

Step 8 – Miscellaneous Activities

  • This step replaces providing a resume, please be as thorough as possible.  You will have an opportunity to provide “Work Experience” and “Awards/Honors” on the next screen, however space is limited to four lines a piece.  Include as much information as possible in this section and use the next page for overflow information ONLY regarding “Work Experience” and “Awards/Honors”.
  • You may cut and paste text from a Word Document into the boxes.

Step 9 – Additional Information

  • T-shirt Size – registrants who participate in the Formal Recruitment process will receive a t-shirt to wear during the service project during recruitment.  Wearing this t-shirt is required.
  • During the payment process, you will have the opportunity to purchase an additional t-shirt.  IFC is offering an SMU IFC t-shirt for $10.

Step 10 – Review

  • Click “Review”
  • You may review all the information you entered in the system.
  • If something needs to be changed, please click “Modify” and change the information at this time.
  • Read the Disclaimer carefully.
  • Click “Accept”
  • You may still “Modify” at this time.
  • If everything looks good, click “Save/Submit”

Step 11 – Payment

  • The base registration fee is $100.  Registration ENDS DECEMBER 1, 2007
  • If you would like to purchase the optional SMU IFC t-shirt, you may do so at this time.  Select the second payment option (recruitment registration fee + $10.)
  • You MUST pay online, but may do so by either credit card or e-check.
  • You will receive a confirmation email to your email address.  If you are unable to pay at this time, a payment link will appear on the bottom of your confirmation.
  • You MUST pay within one week of registration. Applications submitted without payment in the appropriate time will be terminated and need to be resubmitted.

***Spring 2008 IFC Recruitment Registration has been re-opened until Thursday, Dec. 6th, the last day of class. All registrations after the original Dec. 1st deadline will include a $50 late registration fee for a minimum registration fee of $150.***
