who we are
SMU Chemistry Society is a student-run organization whose purpose is to encourage the understanding of chemistry. Students studying chemistry, biochemistry, or environmental chemistry are encouraged to join. SMU Chemistry Society holds general meetings once a month (and we usually have food). Throughout the semester, students are invited to volunteer for our elementary or high school demos (see events), to attend our SMU football tailgating parties, and to participate in other campus activities designed to promote awareness of the chemistry that surrounds us. The biannual Chemistry Luncheon offered towards the end of each semester is another popular event. Finally, a variety of seminars are organized by both the Chemistry Society and the SMU Department of Chemistry to which undergraduates are encouraged to attend.
