From the first chapters of Genesis to the last chapter of Revelation we see God calling people to Himself. As followers of Christ we are to call others to join us in following Christ. At The Vine we encourage each other to reach out to other on our campus, in our community, and in the world. We do not need to leave the SMU campus to find a place to share Christ. In the seat next to us, and the other side of the dorm room may be a student who needs to know Christ's love and desire for their lives. Through our relationships with our peers we have a great opportunity to share Christ's love by our actions and words. In The Vine we also have opportunities to serve others in our community, through monthly service projects. In which we work to meet physical needs of people and look for opportunities to share Christ with them. These opportunities will be posted on the events page. We also take a spring break mission trip. The destination of the 2005 mission trip is yet undecided. Last year during spring break we went to Juarez, Mexico. It was a combined trip between the SMU Baptist Student Ministry and the 1st & 2nd year medical students at UT Southwestern Medical School. You can read about that trip here. There are also opportunities to serve in other missions. Through gonowmissions you can serve in 2 week Christmas mission trips, 2 week summer, full summer, or semester mission trips.
