Brad Boeke has been working at Southern Methodist University since 2008, where he has expanded the use of web-based, collaborative technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Currently working in SMU’s Center for Teaching Excellence, Brad provides direct support and consultation for faculty using both existing and emerging instructional and educational technologies.

Brad has an extensive background in learning development, online/blended course content, digital media production, web publishing, and instructional design/technology, as well as 16 years of administrative and managerial experience in an academic technology environment. Brad takes a strategic, yet creative, approach to the application of innovative technologies in teaching, learning, and research that involves collaboration with faculty, students, and staff; a dedication to customer service; and the ability to work with a multitude of stakeholders.

Before joining SMU, Brad was the Director of Technology Services for American University’ s School of Communication, where he managed the school’s computing and media production facilities, and spearheaded the School’s transition from an analog to digital production environment. Brad also served for two years at DePauw University’s Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media as the Director of Television Operations, where he enabled student and faculty use of professional television production equipment and facilities, led hands-on workshops in digital media production and editing, and taught semester-long courses in film and video editing.
