What is the Mustang Band Experience?

     An opportunity for any high school band student to join the Mustang Band for a day! Meet current Mustang Band members, have a short rehearsal, and perform at an SMU basketball game in Moody Coliseum!

When is this year's event?

    This year's event will take place on Saturday, February 2. 2013 at the game between the Mustangs and the Houston Cougars.

Who can attend?

     The event is designed for high school students interested in or considering attending SMU and participating in band, but is open to any current high school band member.

What does it cost?

     It is FREE to the participants! In addition, each student will be given a Band Experience t-shirt.

What is the schedule for the day?

    11:30 am - Check-in and Rehearsal in Moody Coliseum (percussion equipment will be provided; all others bring your own instrument)
     12:45 pm - Lunch (furnished)
     1:30 pm - Pre-Game performance
     2:00 pm - Tip-off
     2:50 pm (app.) - Halftime performance
     4:00 pm (app) - Post-Game performance

Can parents and other family members attend the game?

     YES! Special seating has been set aside for family members of participants. Contact the Mustang Band Office for details (214-768-2263).
