Recycling Competition
November 2-15
Organizations across SMU, including residence halls, fraternities, sororities, and chartered organizations, are invited to participate in a recycling competition against one another to see who can recycle the most aluminum cans and plastic bottles.

Dallas/Fort Worth Air Quality
Purpose
To provide a common ground where students from various academic disciplines can advance their understanding of environmental issues and contribute toward progress in society though an organized exchange of knowledge.
To promote better understanding of environmental issues including industrial ecology, air and water pollution, waste management, health effects, climate change, biodiversity and related environmental concerns.
To foster and promote relationships with professionals in the environmental field.
Have you ever recycled?
If so, you can join SMU's Environmental Society. You don't have to be a Greenpeace activist, just someone who wants to do the right thing when it comes to the environment.

What you can do
There are many, easy things you can do to help the environment:
- Join an environmental organization such as the SMU Environmental Society or the Student Senate Environmental Committee.
- Reduce consumption: buy less stuff, conserve energy, use public transportation.
- Recycle things that can be recycled.
- Reuse things that can be reused, or give them to someone who will reuse them.
- Buy items that have been recycled: paper, clothing, etc.
- Encourage your friends and family to be more environmentally conscious, such as by recycling or by driving less
- Lead by example.
