The ARRL (2001/2) Technician Licensing Video Course is available at SMU's Fondren Library
West - Center for Media and Instructional Technology (videotape library). You may view these tapes at
the video kiosks at CMIT during their extended library hours. The videos are on reserve at CMIT
under Dr. Gosney (our club advisor). People with an SMU library card may check out the videotapes
for overnight use too. Besides the videos, you can also see the related ARRL Technician Q&A manual and
an optional introduction to electronics book (by Crowhurst). There is NO MORSE CODE test for
getting your Technician license. These three tapes (2 hours each) present
an enjoyable introduction to amateur radio operations, equipment, and enough theory and multimedia
explanations to enable you to easily pass the 35 question multiple choice exam (26 or 75% is passing).
The pool of all technician exam questions and answers can be downloaded
from ARRL website, along with the answers! The technician licensing
examination is available
every 2nd Saturday of the month
at Love Field in Dallas, among many other sites. You do NOT need to be a U.S. citizen to get
your amateur radio license. Got questions? Call us at 214-768-3271...
