Chapter Meeting Minutes 4-26-99

The Chapter meeting opened not-so-promptly at 6:32 pm.

(SMU Rides chair needed...)

Carissa Meyers-Service Mistress...
   All decked out in her service apron, Ms. Meyers announced:
     -1st project of the summer will be the Special Olympics in Houston.
     The date for this project is May 29th.  Carissa will be sending a
     message to the listserve for sign ups.

Marcus "Queso" Topliff-MVP...
   Paid off all of those who voted for him with cookies and announced:
     -Final fellowship event of the summer will be a study break Tues,
     May 4th.  Meet on the steps of Hughes- Trigg at 7pm to go over to
     the Starbucks at Mockingbird and Airline.

     -Voting for advisors occurred.  It was decided that all seven
     advisors will remain on the board for Fall '99.  Eileen Dashiel will
     be the Advisory Chair.

     -There was minor discussion of a possible fellowship event for the 
     Star Wars prequel, but it was brought up by Kristi, so we all ignored
     it....

Danielle Derbes-Pledge Queen...
   Balanced her checkbook the whole meeting, except for when she
   announced:
     -SIGN UP FOR THE PLEDGE COMMITTEE

Kristi Katsanis-PR/Rush...
   With a mouthful of Peanut Butter Cookies topped with Dove Chocolate
   announced:
     -This summer there will be AARO dinners where we can trick Freshmen
     into joining APO.  Kristi needs to know who will be in town during
     July to attend a couple of these dinners.  She will E-Mail exact 
     dates to the listserve.

(I would do it again if I weren't an exec member!)

     - Office of community involvement needs people to man the APO table
     at AARO.  The dates/times will come to you via listserve.

Rex Tjoa-Dues Nazi...
   Very calmly announced:
     -If you are interested in finding out about the financial dealings of
     the chapter and have an interest in embezzlement, please join his
     committee.(Okay, I took a little poetic lisence with the embezzlement
     thing).

Jen Anderson-Intern to the President...I mean, Secretary...
   Quickly ripped a piece of paper from her notebook and announced:
     -I am putting together a summer roster.  Please e-mail me with your
     summer info. (hmmm...maybe you should be an SMU rides Chair)

Sam Megally-Dictator
   Was organized for this meeting (let's see if it happens again) and
   announced:       
     -Voting on a proposal to add suspension to the bylaws was going to 
     take place, but a motion was seconded and passed to hold voting until
     next meeting.  

(Uncle Sam wants you---for SMU Rides chair...)

     -CPW will take place June 18-20 at TCU.  The cost is $40.00 and
     you must pay Sam by May 1.  That's this Saturday.  If you have a 
     financial need, contact Sam.

Other Announcements:

Laura Wright-Regionals Chica...
   Was very, extrememly hyper and she told us:
     -The glass at Regionals will be a Martini glass

(did I mention...sign up to be SMU rides chair)

     -She still needs people to be on the committee, and she really wants
     people who are going to be here over the summer to work on stuff.

Kristi and Rex-Former SMU rides chairs...
   Sounded a little desperate, and told us:
     -WE STILL NEED APPLICANTS FOR SMU RIDES CHAIRS...
  
     -Rides is running this weekend, and volunteers are needed.


The last meeting for all of our seniors ended at 6:54pm, at which point we
(be an smu rides chair) sang the Toast Song, and magically some Queso
appeared!!!
