Chapter Meeting Minutes 2-23-99

Darby recorded minutes for Aren this evening.

1. Jay introduced this Saturday's exciting sectional service project: 
Garage Teardown with People Helping People!!  This only happens once a 
semester, so don't miss it!  The project chair is Danielle Derbes, so 
contact her with signups and questions. The details:

	Meet: 9am at the steps of DALLAS HALL
	Return: 3pm (assuming we have enough people to work)
	In attendance from the section:
		16 from UTD
		13 from UNT
		10 from Beta Delta
		2  from Tarleton State
	Lunch: Sandwiches to be made Fri at 5pm at the SMUSH 
		(contact Danielle if you can help with this)
	Dinner: afterwards (anyone can come)
	Other:  Please volunteer to let the guests from other chapters 
shower at your place before dinner...we told them this servce would be 
available.
	Also: please bring a camera if you can to take photos of this 
memorable project to be submitted to the Torch and Trefoil.

2. Jay is considering a project on Sunday 2-5pm.  PLease contact him if 
you'd be interested.

3. Sam's choice:

	Pledge of the Week:  Carrie Warrick

4. Rachel reminds us that Pledge Meeting will be Sunday 6-7pm in Portico 
C as usual.

5. Jennifer Nash reports the Blood Drive (today through Thurs) is going well.
She is DESPERATE for volunteers to sit outside the blood vans (by Hughes 
Trigg and the Flagpole) from 10-4.  
This is part of the Blood Drive, and chapter support is CRUCIAL.  Please 
contact her IMMEDIATELY if you can help (even just a half hour). What a 
great way to get hours - sitting outside in the beautiful weather we are 
having!

6. Also remember that you earn a service hour for every pint you give... I 
earned an hour in 4 minutes today!

7. Freddie reminds us that dues ($30 for actives and $55 for pledges) are 
still being accepted.  PLease contact him if you have not paid yet.

8. Katie announces the Bylaws committee:

9. Laura updates the chapter on plans for regionals.  Please contact her 
with suggestions for keynote speakers and suggestions for places to ask 
for donations.  Also email her if you're interested in attending the 
meetings of other chapters in the section this week or next to promote 
regionals.

10.  Katie announces that we are looking for a historian.  PLease contact 
her if you're interested in this position which involves working on the 
history project and the scrapbook.

11. Kristi announces that Pledge Weekend for SMU rides will be the 
weekend before activation...mark your calendars now!
