Minutes for Meeting on 4/16/02
******important things to know********
-this week we're hosting a canned food drive due by THIS FRI.; Lauren and
Summer are the chairs and you get up to 5 hours for 15 cans
-people helping people is Apr. 27th
-Celebration of Service is this Thurs. from 5-6:30 pm in the SMUSH; if
you help out prior to and clean up after, you can get service hours,
PLEASE COME!!!!!!!!! APO does co-sponsor this event!!!!!
-the interchapter challenge is this Sun. Apr. 21 at 9:00 pm; meet on the
steps of H-T at 8:30 pm
-activation is this weekend(Fri/Sat); we're meeting at 7:00 pm; you need
to bring sleeping bags
-pledge boards are being done on Thurs. at 6:30pm, place to be announced
-dues are due today!!!!
-if you stayed in the rooms at sectionals, you owe Danielle $31.64,
payable to Danielle
-banquet at Avanti (downtown) on ****SUNDAY, APRIL 28TH*****will be $20
per person and $25 for non-APO members due by next Tues.!!!!!
-nominations and declinations are open until Sun. at 5:00 pm; Kelly will
send out an email w/the list of nominees for next meeting

Jenn, MVP: 1)fellowship this week is activation
2) Celebration of Service is this Thurs. from 5-6:30 pm in the SMUSH; if

Scott, Pledge Trainer: 1)activation is this weekend(Fri/Sat); we're meeting at 7:00 pm;

2) we voted on pledges; the following were affirmed to be activated:
Amber, Courtney, Natlia, Teisha, Mandy, Anna, Tust, Nathalie, and Julie;
the following are affirmed under the conditions that they reach a minimum
of 20 hours by this Fri.'s activation as well as pay their dues: Sarah
and Marina
3) pledge boards are being done on Thurs. at 6:30pm, place to be announced
Anand, PR/Rush: 1) we voted on themes for next semester; the 80s cartoon theme won
Danielle, Treasurer: 1) dues are due today!!!!

Kelly, President: 1) Dina and by-laws regarding Rides becoming a full-fledged exec
position; we discussed and will vote next week
2) we will be hosting sectionals next year; good job Teisha on the
promotion of SMU!!!!
3) congrats to Jay for becoming sectional chair!!!!
4) we will have our sectional service project at Texas Wesleyan
University w/the Masonic Home
5) sectional leadership conference will be at Austin College
6) Bill wore the hand-made APO shirt at sectionals!!!!

appointed positions:
Lauren: we are having banquet at Avanti (downtown) *Sun. Apr. 28th* at
7:00 pm PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE!!!!
Anand: if you're interested in learning how to handle the listserv,
contact Anand about a class SMU is offering in training as a webmaster
announcements:
Jay: 1)thanks to AO for their support for his position
2) there will be no awards committee meeting
Summer: Take Back That Night is scheduled for this Thurs. at 8:00pm at
the flagpole
Laura: Amnesty International is having a Cambodian poet speak 7:00 pm
Apr. 17th in the H-T Commons regarding the oppression and problems he
endured uner the Pol Pot regime
Jenn: a plaque is ready for blue/gold competition
