Executive Retreat Minutes 8-29-99

Exec retreat started at 2:15 pm.

First item of business discussed were the appointed positions.  All
appointed positions were filled except: Alumni secretary, Sectional
Liasion and one SMU RIdes chairperson...PS:  If you love to work with
money, you should really sign up for this position.....

Next, the calendar was developed for the year.  It was decided that I
would have the final calendar to the chapter on Sept. 7.  I will also send
an email version of the calender on that date.  

Big events that will occur before the calendar is put out are:

		-PR/Rush tables, Tuesday Aug. 31 10-2 in front of H-T
		-Info Sessions:
			-Wed. Sept 1, 6:15 pm, Shuttles Hall
			-Thurs. Sept 2, 6:15 pm, McElvaney Hall
			-Friday Sept 3, noon, Atrium A&B
			-Tues. Sept. 7, 12:30 pm, Atrium A&B
		-Active Retreat: Friday Sept. 3, 8pm Dedman Center
		-Fellowship football game: Sat. Sept. 4 meet at ? pm
		outside of Hughes-Trigg
		-Activation: Tuesday, Sept. 7 after meeting
		-Service Project: Saturday Sept. 4, Pepsi Kidaround
		
Service-Carissa:
	-Service projects are not set for entire semester, allows
	flexibility with calendar.  Now that calendar is set, will fill in
	service projects.
	-Some ideas for service projects include:
		-Mustang Stampede
		-SPCA Fur Ball
		-Senior Citizen craft Fair(national service week)
	-There will be a project after pledge retreat.
	-Will use a project chair info sheet similar to one Jen Jefts
	used, there will be no mandatory reflection.
	-Only one theme week and that is national service week which is,
	"helping leaders of the 20th century"
	-Working on a new sign-up sheet similar to Chris Nelson's old one
	-There will be info sheets for the Project Chairs to fill out

Membership VP-Marcus:

	-Active Retreat:
		-Sept. 3rd 8pm, dedman center
		-Basketball, Volleyball, movie room, relays, possibly
		sardines (scheduled activities) 
		-Everyone who attends needs to either bring food or $2.00
		for food.  Please let Marcus know what you will be bringing
		by Wednesday night.
		-There will be a survey conducted at Active Retreat

	-Fellowship Events:
		-9/4, football game
		-9/11 Karaoke
		-9/17 Blue/Gold events kickoff at Gameworks (or is it
		Funworks???)
		-9/26 Capture the Flag (blue/gold)
		-9/28 Dinner and a Movie
		-10/7 Swing Dancing at Sand Castle(you may want to see if
		they are still open...I think they have been turned into
		a chinese buffet)
		-10/13 Volleyball game at Dedman (blue/gold)
		-10/16 make the fair football game fellowship
		-10/26 post regionals event (skating?)
		-10/30 Halloween Party (this one confused Kristi)
		-11/6 Play Pool (it will start getting cold by this date)
		-11/11 Putt Putt
		-11/17 Whirly ball for final blue/gold competition
		-?Possible Ropes course 10/13?
	-Blue/Gold competition
		-will be limited to the events listed above
		-Special presentation to winning team at banquet
	-Banquet
		-Dec. 3, at a TBD location.

		-takes place of pledge/active of the week
		-there will be a submission box in the office, as well as
		at meetings so someone can be chosen each week.

		-Natalie will get a monthly statement at the beginning of
		every month
		-work on a bylaws write up about usage
		-Membership VP will be able to sign on this account

Pledge Goddess-Danielle:

	-Pledge Policies
		-will remain the same, except no leadership point system,
		and there will be weekly tests.
		-There will be a vote of acclimation on the policies on
		Tuesday, Aug. 31.  If parts of policies come up for
		discussion, then the changes will be discussed
 		and then the policies will be voted on by a vote of
		acclimation.
	-Pledge Meetings
		-Pledges will not run any meetings

	-Pledge retreat
		9/10 or 9/11, need suggestions for locations
	-Victory party
		10/1 or 10/2, need suggestions for locations
	-Pledge committe
		-Jay, Laura, Misti, Heather

PR/Rush-Krackhead Kristi:
	-Info sessions
		-need people to work table 8/31 and the info sessions
		-15 solid pledges
		-sending 23 letters to people who showed interest in APO

		-sign ups 9/14-16 or 9/21-23
		-Actual drive 9/28-30.  9/29 will be inside Hughes-Trigg
  		-No organizational competition
	-T-shirts
		-have plenty left over from last semester, no new ones
	-Buttons
		-Will begin selling

		-One Torch and Trefoil, One DC and possibly one DMN.
	-NO UMOC

Treasurer-T-Rex:
	-There will be a line item account for Regionals.
	-Dues:
		-$30.00 for actives, final day to pay, Oct. 19
		-$55.00 for Pledges, 1/2 due by 9/14 1/2 due by
		activiation.

Secretary-Jen:
	-Roster
