Executive Board Minutes 9-22-98

Katie
-We now have an APO desk in the Volunteer Office!

-This Saturday - North Texas Food Bank
-Sunday - planned project was canceled so, possible History Project

-Next weekend- Saturday- KERA run 
- Sunday- we will be sighted guides for a festival held by the Dallas 
Lighthouse for the Blind- speaker at next weeks meeting from Dallas Lighthouse
for the Blind  

-service project attendance down 
-concern about so many hours given for other things
-possible New Hours policy

Sam and Natalie
-working on list of sponsors
-work with Jamie to go to other chapters' meetings to get their vote for 
the Regional Bid
-Regional Bid t-shirts, sweatshirts, or long-sleeved t-shirts....?
-Hotel research continues. Thursday they will drive around to the nearest 
hotels to get info.
-Regional conferences possibly held at hotel but would like to have them 
here at SMU 
-talk to Tim Moore
-SMU vans/shuttles from hotels to SMU...?
-Sam and Natalie meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5.

Gina
-the area code for Minneapolis is 612.
-talk to Bill and Aren concerning scouting advisors
-Need the advisors by October 15th
-Beginning next week all members who do not attend meeting will be sent a 
copy of the newsletter as well as a "we missed you" note
-Gina will be meeting with Natalie to create a database concerning 
attendance or lack of and factors which may be affecting it at certain 
meetings

Jay
-each week actives will come to pledge meetings to educate them in some way
-this week - Danielle - Friendship
-next week - As many exec members as possible - Leadership  

-Alternate Initiation
-Victory Party- Mike Hayes' grandmother's house
-Pledge meeting will be Sundays at 7 p.m. in the Student Center in either 
Atrium A or E.
-Pledge committee to meet this Wednesday

**Discussion: Pledge tests and/or policy concerns. Risk management concerns.
-there are no written tests with the exception of make-ups
-concerns to revote on Pledge Policies
-necessity of evaluation of the pledges to prove that they are 
sufficiently educated (APO-wise)

-Blood drive sign-up will probably in front of Hughes-Trigg as opposed to 
the traditional location, The Crossing, this semester
-committee sign-up sheets next week
-working on press release for Blood Drive

No problems so far. 
Senate will work rides next weekend in shifts.

I am talking to Danielle about ordering these really spiffy drinking 
glasses for Banquet.

-Jamie (and Katie) will try to attend monthly Sectional meetings in Arlington

Shannon 
-get together a project to update the Alumni list

To our surprise, the meeting ended (sometimes we think it might not) and we 
all got to go home.
