Executive Board Minutes 10-6-98

Michelle and Jay have been the only ones working on the History Project. 
They usually work it Wednesday and Thursday during lunch time. Come and 
join them!

Mark and Andrea looking at changing the contract with the cab company for 
SMU RIDES. 
Told Mark to ask us for help when he needs it!

Sam and Natalie marvelously discovered a free company called the 
Convention Bureau of Dallas which will help them a great deal. Anna 
Murphy is their contact who works solely with fraternal organizations. 
They will talk with her tomorrow. Found that using the hotels facilities 
in all cases may be less expensive. Using the rooms for our overnight 
visitors as well as the banquet rooms for banquets and/or other 
activities. They will continue to work on this with Jen Nash. 
They need help with capital fund. Jeannie Whitmanother contacts.
Met w/Jamie. Getting lists of other chapters (in our Section) meetings 
and Presidents names.
Regarding Regional Bid T-shirtswill take orders and money first.

Katie informed us that Oct. 17ths People Helping People project may be 
canceled.
Concern that we may not be providing enough hours for pledges.

Gina extremely briefly mentioned the fact that membership focus groups 
are to be completed by next exec meeting.

Discussion: Advisors- Committee Head.
We will be voting next meeting.

Jen Anderson said Blood Drive is going well. Marcus will dress up like 
Dracula and stand beside the sign-up tables to attract attention. 

Jamie announced that UTA would love for us to come to any of their events 
or meetings.

Shannon discussed a packet for members of the Alumni Association 
including letter about fundraising, newsletter, and history survey. Dues 
$25? 
65th anniversary coming up. 
Alumni picnic next semester.
By Monday she will have a disk in the OCI (Office of Community 
Involvement) to use for a project to update the Alumni Database.
Possibly talking to Alumni about previous database.

Jay said Victory Party was fun even though he got thrown in the pool. We 
have 8 pledges.
Discussion: presentations and Rush schedule.

Jen Nash talked about the Golf Tournament Fund raiser this weekend. 
Silent Auction will be moved until next semester but Jen will continue to 
work on getting it planned.
-contact Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Southwest Airlines, shops in Snider 
Plaza for donations (tickets, coupons, etc.)
$100 Campus Concepts
Car Wash- will still happen sometime this semester
Ugly Man on Campus
-contact Student Organizations  
-we will be getting the money, however we will emphasize that the money 
is going to serve the community

Heather will receive all bulk e-mails from now on and will submit them in 
writing to Donna Morris.

That was it. Exec may or may not meet next week. That decision is still
