Chapter Meeting Minutes 11-3-98

Our dearest SVP, Katie, was sick and unable to attend the meeting, however,
she sent messages. This Saturday from 12 til 4 is Pledge Project, which
Ramona is in charge of, it will be at Camp Summit. We will help clean and
organize storage stuff as well as possibly help out with some activities
associated with a camp that may be held there.

Sunday meet at 5 p.m. at the SMUSH to go to the Dallas Life Foundation
Project.
E-mail Katie with your Community Service Day and/or Blood Drive Hours.

Jay
Community Service Day was a big success! Over 225 people attended total,
8 APO members. So far nothing but good evaluations and no social Greek
groups slept in, for a change. ;-)

Gina
Party at SMU RIDES Thursday night before Activation, a tremendous bonding
activity!
Gina is working on getting a true, set in stone, retention program
together. If you want to help her with ideas she is going to have
meetings over Christmas Break to get it together. Contact her if you are
interested.
There will be a Blue/Gold event worth a lot of points at Activation.

Blue/Gold Update
Blue - 3106 pts
Gold - 3000 something...sorry it was really close anyway :-)

Lara was the high PLEDGE for Blue and Danielle was the high active
Renee was the high JI and Rachel was the high active for the Gold team.

Jen Nash
Account info
Dues were due tonight! So if you haven't paid them...you're in bigggg
trouble!!! ;-)
Jen received 2 nominations for Ugly Man! One from Sigma Chi and the other
from the Pikes. She is accepting nominations for professors, so if you
have any ideas...get them to Jen! They have to be someone who would have
fun with it.
Trailer money was voted down by Senate as was the money for the Alumni
Association. She is going to try to get the money for the Alumni
Association under "special projects."
We did, however, receive the money for the Regional Bid packets! Yea!
Jen Nash and Katie attended a dinner for Student leaders.
Suggestion that AO should attend meetings or events of other
organizations in order to diversify ourselves.

Heather
Working on ordering jerseys. Next week I will send out a sign-up sheet so
that I will know how many to order. If you don't normally come to meeting
or you just can't come to next weeks' please e-mail me if you want one!

Kristi
UTD's chartering ceremony is Dec. 12th
Pimp N' Ho is this Saturday - NOTE - OUR chapters' policy is no drinking
at APO events, therefore the designated driver stuff does not apply to us
because we can all be designated drivers, as none of us will be drinking.

Kristi went to Senate to update them on SMU RIDES and thank them for money!

Congratulations to Marcus our new Sergeant-at-arms!

pledge boards on Thursday night!

Andrea
Alcohol Awareness week is Februrary 1st through the 5th. Andrea and Mark
have come up with some marvelous ideas in which SMU RIDES can participate!

Michelle says (like she does every week, what a good historian :-)) to work
on the History Project!

Aren
Reminds you to get easy hours by scanning pictures for the web page.

We voted on t-shirt designs for Regionals, results will be announced on
Thursday. If you were not at meeting pick up an absentee ballot from my
box, fill it out, fold it, and put it back in to cast your vote!

Jen Anderson announced that the Virginia-Snyder dorm is participating in
a project that we may be interested in. It is to purchase a present to be
given to a child whose parent(s) is/are incarcerated on Christmas.

Also Jen Nash reminded us to donate money to sponsor a child to receive a
gift at the Celebration of Lights. We must get at least $40!

Written nominations for exec positions are next week!
