Chapter Meeting Minutes 10-20-98 Mid-semester evaluation (I will send more details on this soon) -We had a speaker, Krista, from the college bound program. It is a mentoring program here at SMU. If you are interested it runs every Tuesday in November for an hour at either 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. and December 4th is a field trip. -Orientation is next Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in atrium E. She needs a commitment by the end of this week. Contact her in the volunteer office or Katie. -Katie announced that the hours report that she sent out via e-mail did not include hurricane relief or blood drive. -This weekends' project has been canceled so that we could go to the ***Arc of Dallas again and cheer them on in their regional bowling tournament at Don Carter's. We will meet on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the SMUSH.***** -Natalie reported on last week's project (Arc of Dallas). She said they saw many familiar faces and had tons of fun. She was Hilary Clinton this time. ***Project on Sunday...we will be cooking dinner for 40 people for an AIDS hospice. Details are on the way...*** ****Fellowship event this Thursday night, Dr. Blood's Haunted House, $15 a person. Meet at 7:00 p.m. at Hughes-Trigg. This Saturday the football game will be a fellowship event. Meet at 1:00 p.m. at Hughes-Trigg to catch the bus to the game. ********* -Gina led a vote on the advisors. The results will be announced next week. Nationals registration money due!! -I bet that you did not know that "the artist formally known as Prince" is from Minneapolis. Blue/Gold update -Blue 2516 -Gold 2632 The high pledges for this week were -Lara with 120 on the Blue team and -Laura with 40 on the Gold team. -Jay announced that there will be no big committee meeting this week. -The pledges gave a wonderful presentation on leadership. They demonstrated that they have learned what a leader is, what is required to be one, and who our (AO's) leaders are. -Jen Anderson says to e-mail her if you have worked Blood Drive or Blood Drive Sign-up. -She really needs help tomorrow so if anyone has any free time, stop by and lend a hand. -T-shirts Jen Nash -account update -The fundraiser this past Sunday went well even though only 3 people showed up. They raised $150 by eating lunch and lounging around. -Katie gave everyone who showed up last weekend to the falsified fundraiser 2 hours of service and Nash will bring cookies. -Jen has sent out letters to 75 organizations in an attempt to get nominations for Ugly Man on Campus. -Rolling appropriations committee gave a positive request concerning money for hotel rooms and registration for delegates for Nationals. -Residuals...$1900 for trailer -Pledge dues are due by Nov. 3rd!!!!!!! If you get them in any later you will have to pay $5 extra. -Residual applications due this Friday. Kristi -CALF was this past weekend at TCU. She said it went great but she was really disappointed that our chapter did not show much of an interest. -Mail Sam and Natalie said....SUBMIT YOU'RE FREAKIN' T-SHIRT DESIGN IDEAS!!! Mark said the SMUSH will be working RIDES this weekend. Michelle begged for help with the History Project. For details contact her. Aren asked for help with the Internet Scrapbook Project. Contact him for details. Shannon needs help with the Alumni Project. Hopes to have Alumni letters done by Nov. 5th. Jamie reminded us about the Goblin gallop- run it or work it. It's at 6 p.m. this Thursday night. Contact her if you are interested. Jen Anderson is helping her sister sell buckets of cookie dough. They are $10 a bucket. She needs your orders by Thursday. Contact her if you are interested. Jay reminded us that pledge project is coming up. Natalie reminded us to go to the Candlelight Vigil tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Dallas Hall.
