Minutes for Meeting on 12/4/01
Meeting opened: 5:31 pm
Purpose led by: Puja
Laura M.(absent), SVP: Please send Laura ideas for service projects.
Jenn, MVP: 1) Voted in advisors for this semester. Congrats to: Bill, John Byrd, Eileen, Matt, Kari, and
Kathleen
2) Voted on advisory chair: there was discussion to appoint Kathleen but she
turned it down, thus Kari was nominated and voted in again (congrats Kari!)
3) If you have ANY suggestions, put them in the idea box in the office
Scott, Pledge Trainer: We discussed ideas about how to improve active membership as well as
increase the number of pledges; Kristi brought up the idea of a contest
amongst the actives to recruit the highest number of pledges who stay and
Scott replied that this is actually an idea already brought up and is being
discussed
Anand, PR/Rush: 1) Discussed new themes. Choices were
Chik-fil-a: du mor survis, All-American theme,
Harry Potter, Win a Girlfriend, Superhero, I agree w/APO
the chik-fil-a theme won
2) Setting up also for a rush committee. Be thinking of ideas to recruit, use theme. Spread the word about APO!
Danielle, Treasurer: If you have any ideas about fundraisers, let her know.
Summer, Secretary: 1) I will send out a copy of this semester's roster. If there are any
mistakes, let me know and I will fix it to send out a new one; a brand new
one will be ready at the beginning of next semester and I'd like to have it
asap for everyone
2) I will send out the list of winter break info (when I get it from whoever
has the clipboard) asap too
3) If you are interested in purchasing jerseys, I will have that info for
you by Feb.; expect costs to be around $25
Appointed Positions:
Scott, SMU Rides Co-Chair: Rides will be working this weekend. If any of you can help out,
please do. (Scott's got finals too!)
Announcements:
Danielle (sectional staff):The leadership conference is to be held in
Sherman, TX at Austin College on Feb 27th from 9:00-4:00 pm; the theme has
moved away from bovine to (I may not have gotten the words exactly, so
please fix): Service: A Road of Adventure
Summer: Women's Syposium is coming up. If you're interested in free food and
helping to facilitate a discussion (which are a kick-ass good time), please
see me.
Jay: (absent) Thanks a lot to those who served on the awards committee. Also, congrats to Laura W. for being
awarded the DSK (we were supposed to make you get up and dance/sing, but you weren't here)
Jenn: Went over the forget-me-not box. Don't forget! Wed. Dec. 12 - Finals Study Break! 8pm at CC's coffee.
Please meet at the steps of H-T at 7:45pm then we'll walk over to CC's!
