Premedical students are eligible for active membership in the chapter when they have completed the following requirements as mandated by our Constitution:

  1. The student shall be engaged in courses leading to the study of medicine or other healthcare professions.
  2. The student shall have completed at least 3 semesters of premedical work with an overall GPA of at least 3.32 and a GPA of at least 3.2 in the sciences.
**For transfer students, the GPA used to determine scholastic eligibility at the new school will be determined by averaging all grades from both the old and new schools (and all science grades from both schools).**
  3. Character, general ability, and personality must be considered carefully in the selection of every member.

Those applicants who are accepted for membership will be notified by letter.  Upon your acceptance, there is a one-time membership fee of $55 payable before initiation.

**Members shall be elected without any discrimination on the basis of race, sex, religion, creed, or national origin.**
