In the 1960's, tooling down the street in a Corvette was the ultimate display of "cool." The Corvette had it all-design, speed, performance, and power. It was 100% American and was America's first production sports car. The initial 1953 model was based on Europen sports cars. It had no exterior door handles, door locks, or roll up windows. It was a pure British look modified with American taste. The Corvette simply exuded confidence and prestige. The Corvette had arrived and everyones attention was captured. Now, over 50 years later the Corvette is still symbolized as America's Dream Car. IT has gone through six different generations and through them all it has kept its title through innovation, technology, style, and grace. With the perfect blend of these ingredients, the Corvette should forever remain as America's favorite sports car.
