1. To promote the interest of Southern Methodist University, hereinafter referred to as The University, which includes scholarship, leadership, and fellowship.


2. To facilitate communication, encourage collaboration, and provide support among the members of The Council and Asian American Organizations


3. To serve as the representative board of member Asian American student organizations.


4. To provide a unifying foundation to integrate Southern Methodist University Asian American students into the greater community of The University.

Join us each year for our annual Parents Dinner during Family Weekend. Our events include everything from participating in Homecoming to hosting a series of events for Asian American awareness month. This year we have many events focused on celebrating our culture with the SMU and Dallas community.

Asian Council (AC) was formed during the 1996-97 academic year by a group of student leaders who had a vision to strengthen the Asian American community at SMU. They wanted to form a liaison for all of the Asian American organization leaders to interact and promote their organizations.
